Location: Howard Performing Arts Center & Lawn
Description: Join us for an afternoon of free food, networking, trainings, and helpful information for new Graduate students!

Check-In (HPAC Lobby)

Come to the Lobby of Howard Performing Arts Center to check in for Orientation. We'll make certain you get your name tag and Networking Group assignment before being seated in the Performance Hall.

Graduate Welcome (HPAC Performance Hall)

We'll kick off Orientation with messages from our Graduate Dean, Dr. Alayne Thorpe, AUGSA President, David Springer, and other current graduate students before receiving instructions for the day.

Graduate Resource Fair (HPAC Lobby)

Orientation begins with time to interact with graduate programs, campus departments, and community services that will be helpful to your Graduate Experience.

Networking Lunch (HPAC Lawn)

Grab one of Bon Appetit's delicious box lunches and head out to the lawn to meet your assigned Networking Group. Each group will be hosted by one of our current Graduate students.

Title IX Training (HPAC Lobby)

Dean Alyssa Palmer, the University's Title IX Chief Deputy Coordinator, will lead us through an interactive training on how to create a safe and respectful campus culture.

Diversity & Inclusion Training (HPAC Lobby)

VP for Campus Culture & Inclusion, Michael Nixon, and AVP for Campus Culture & Inclusion, Steve Yeagley, and professor Carole Woolford-Hunt will host a second hour focused on respecting and learning from the rich diversity on the Andrews campus.

Closing Program and AU Bible Ceremony (HPAC Performance Hall)

President Luxton and Provost Arthur will close our Orientation with an address and charge to new Graduate students. Our University chaplains will lead out in the gifting of AU Study Bibles to new students and a prayer of consecration for the new year.

You will receive an Andrews ID card when you come to campus. Please note that you must be financially cleared for it to be activated. 

You can purchase textbooks and a great selection of supplies and University merchandise at the Bookstore.

Yes, all students are allowed to have a vehicle on campus. To register your vehicle, go to our Vehicles & Parking webpage.
