1. Application for Graduation
It is your responsibility to obtain and file an "Application for Graduation" request with the Records office (1-269-471-6230). Here is the link for the online graduation application Graduation ceremonies are in May and August; there is also a December graduation when degrees are conferred, but students do not march. Consult the academic calendar for application deadlines, which are 3-4 months in advance of graduation.

Name Change Request
Students who have legally changed their names OR whose name is incorrect in the database should fill out a Name Change Request form. This form needs to be sent to the office of Academic Records. This is to change your name as it appears in the Academic Records database and is reflected on your transcripts but not on the diploma.
Please be aware of the type of legal documentation required for your name change and be prepared to show these documents and your ID to support your claims.  Name changes to the database are processed in 24 hours.  Name changes can be done at any time but changes made after graduation will not be reflected on diplomas because a diploma is a historical document which reflects your name at the time of graduation.

2. Graduation Gown
The regular black "one-use" gown is made of a lightweight material with a black mortarboard hat and a Master of Arts hood in scarlet red. Students may purchase through the AU Bookstore.  Simply go to the bookstore website at https://andrews.shopoakhalli.com/purchasewizard/Welcome.

You may choose EXTRA/OPTIONAL souvenir/add-on items which come at an additional expense to the graduation gown, but are required for graduation.
