The BSELED degree requires a content major or two minors, where you can choose your area of emphasis: Integrated Science, Language Arts, Social Studies and/or Reading (K–8).
Our Teacher Preparation Program has three phases: Pre-teacher Preparation, Teacher Preparation and Student Teaching. This way, you’re sure to get classroom knowledge AND hands-on experience.
As you study elementary education at Andrews you’ll spend a minimum of 15 weeks to student teaching in an elementary school. You’ll have the chance to observe, participate in classroom activities, and, of course, teach!
Choose between a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education (BSELED) or a Bachelor of Arts (BA): Elementary Certification. We also offer a Bachelor of Science (BS)—Individualized Program.

You'll learn in and outside the classroom with our elementary education program. In the beginning, you'll take general education courses like God and Human Life. You will then take classes specific to your major/minor(s), as well as professional courses and requirements. Lastly, you’ll spend a few months as a student teacher.
