Students will be enrolled in a three-credit religion course that builds a deeper appreciation for God’s Word and His personal mission for their lives. The Personal Witnessing course provides practical training in how to share your faith with different audiences, especially your peers, so you can speak about Jesus with clarity and confidence.
Students develop a consistent and meaningful devotional life through prayer, Scripture, time in nature, music, and intentional rhythms of reflection. You will learn principles that strengthen your walk with God and help your faith remain steady in any season. Ignite is designed to help your relationship with Christ grow roots deep enough to weather whatever storms may come.
Students gain a clear and confident understanding of core Adventist beliefs: how God saves us through the righteousness of His Son, Jesus; how the Sabbath is both beautiful and a blessing; how Christ, our Advocate and High Priest in the heavenly sanctuary, gives us confidence and peace in a troubled world; how understanding the state of the dead unmasks spiritual deception; and how we can live with hope as we look forward to the Second Coming of Jesus. Ignite helps you understand not just what we believe, but why it matters for your life right now.
Students are paired with Adventist Connect to learn how to engage in spiritual conversations through social media platforms. You will be trained to respond thoughtfully to those who reach out, to pray with people who have real needs, learn how to answer objections to foundational doctrines of the Adventist faith, and, most importantly, to connect them to Jesus. This is hands-on experience in sharing your faith in the spaces where your generation already lives.
Each student meets weekly with a coach to reflect on how the program is shaping them spiritually, academically, and relationally. These intentional conversations are designed to ground you in your understanding of God, His deep love for you, and your personal calling. Coaching also supports growth in practical areas such as academic development, leadership skills, time stewardship, and navigating family and peer relationships. You will not walk through Ignite alone; you will be known, encouraged, and challenged to grow.
The Ignite program offers need-based scholarships for students recommended by a teacher, principal, or pastor.
The requirements include a scholarship application, a personal essay, and at least one letter of recommendation. Scholarships are considered based on timeliness in submitting all pieces of the application and the need presented. Students who are interested in the scholarship should contact the Discipleship Center Director atdiscipleshipcenter@andrews.edu
