2022 Open Enrollment

Open enrollment is the employee's annual opportunity to elect and/or make changes to certain benefits for the new benefit plan year. Please review the open enrollment information provided below. Benefits and other related information are available on the HR website.

PLEASE NOTE:
Although your benefits are being built in bswift to be the same under the new administrator, we highly encourage all employees THIS YEAR to go through open enrollment to ensure that all benefit elections effective July 2022 are as desired.

OPEN ENROLLMENT PERIOD
April 18–29, 2022

BENEFIT PERIOD
July 1, 2022 – June 30, 2023

COMPLETING OPEN ENROLLMENT
To make open enrollment changes, you will log in with your Andrews username and password to the online benefit management system (bswift). You may use the step-by-step enrollment guide prepared for you.

Click "Start your Enrollment" and keep the following in mind:

  • Be sure to make a selection on each benefit before proceeding to the next.
  • Your wellness reward, if requirements were met in February and April, will be displayed as a credit under the health plan selection.
    • If you will be newly covering yourself and/or your spouse effective July 1, please watch out for communication from us in July for instructions on how the wellness reward requirements can be completed and the reward received retroactive to July 1.
  • Once enrollment is complete, review your elections and confirmation statement.
  • Be sure to email yourself a copy of your confirmation statement and keep this email as your proof of elections.
  • You may complete your enrollment and return to make changes as often as you'd like until April 29.

Please remember:

  • Flexible Spending Account (FSA) elections do not passively roll into the new benefit year (per IRS regulations).
  • FSA changes effective July 1, 2022, must be made during open enrollment through bswift.
  • Between April 18 and June 30, those on the high deductible plan who wish to make changes to their HSA elections for effective dates before July 1 need to contact benefits@andrews.edu rather than making changes in bswift.

Do you need help?

  • Assistance with general enrollment via phone or video conferencing will be available. Please email benefits@andrews.edu to set up an appointment.
  • UNUM will be available to answer questions on Tuesday, April 26 about their products. Please contact benefits@andrews.edu to schedule an appointment to connect with our representative—timeslots are limited.

Health Assessment
Employees and covered spouses: log on to the ASR website and complete the health assessment (instructions HERE) by February 28, 2022. Spouses must create their own account to complete an assessment, if they have not created one.

Only applies to those currently on the Andrews University health plan; if electing coverage at open enrollment, there will be a chance to complete the assessment after July 1 (reward effective July 1).

If you have ASR login issues, it is your responsibility to contact ASR, resolve the issue, and complete the assessment before the deadline. For login issues/questions: please contact ASR for any login issue or questions: (800) 968- 3033 or at otteam@asrhealthbenefits.com.

ASR Website
The ASR health benefits website provides benefits information, including claims status and health plan documents. Additionally, employees and covered spouses will log in to access the Health Engagement Portal to complete the health assessment and track their individual health engagement progress (health assessment completion).

It is your responsibility to confirm through the program tracker on the ASR website that the requirements have been successfully completed and received (please allow up to 3 business days for your account to reflect the completions). For assistance navigating the tracker or for concerns related to completion of the assessment please contact ASR at (800) 968-3033 or healthengagement@asrhealthbenefits.com.

Online Attestation
For those who have completed the wellness requirements due last month, this will be the remaining requirement to earn the wellness reward starting July 2022: starting Monday, April 4 until Wednesday, April 13, complete the online attestation confirming that you have read the Employee Benefits Overview.

Town Hall Meetings
We will be offering two similar virtual benefits town hall meetings, which will include a short presentation followed by a Q&A period.  Attendance to these meetings is encouraged but not required to earn the wellness reward.

Tuesday, April 5
10:30 a.m. or 3:30 p.m. (Zoom link)

The town hall meetings will cover our new partnership with Priority Health, review the open enrollment process and any changes in the plan design, and provide important reminders that may affect healthcare participants outside of open enrollment.

Questions? Please send an email to benefits@andrews.edu for assistance.

Change in Andrews University Medical Benefits Provider

March 15, 2022

Over the past 18 years, Andrews University has partnered with ASR Health Benefits to manage our medical benefits for our employees. We are grateful for the service ASR has provided our employees and plan members over the last two decades.

I wanted to let you know that Andrews University has made the decision to move on from this partnership. With that decision, Andrews University will be transitioning to the employee benefits health plan administration provided by Priority Health as of July 1, 2022.

Our new health benefit partner, Priority Health, is firmly established here in Michigan and currently serves several large employers in Berrien County, where Andrews University’s main campus is located. We believe that one of the key advantages Priority Health will bring to our new partnership is an existing and close working relationship with Spectrum Health Lakeland, our major local healthcare provider. Even though our employees will not be limited to using Spectrum healthcare services only with this new agreement, this move will greatly leverage the contracts that we and our employees will access throughout the Spectrum Health system. We know that these improved contracts also have the potential for additional savings for our employee members as a result of potential reduced payments for services obtained. For those who will be receiving medical services outside of Michigan, this partnership with Priority Health will give you access to the CIGNA network.

We are excited about this new partnership, and we hope you will find this partnership beneficial in helping to best serve your health needs. There will be announcements about this new partnership coming out soon, and you can also find out more through upcoming Town Halls, Open Enrollment, wellness discount status and other potential events. Please keep an eye out for these upcoming messages and additional updates as we get closer to our transition to working directly with Priority Health.

At this time and for the new plan year, your dental, vision and flexible spending will continue to be serviced by ASR.
