Understanding the Political Economy Dynamics of the School WASH Program in Madagascar.
This research applies the use of Political Economy Analysis (PEA) to investigate the reasons behind the low performance of school WASH programs that were implemented by the government of Madagascar since 2018. The method of the PEA Power Cube model will be used to identify and explain how political and economic incentives have influenced the sectors that have led to poor outcomes. The study would also recognize the dominant political economy dynamics that exist in Madagascar and analyze their implications for school WASH practices by enabling strategies that may enhance the effectiveness and sustainability of the sector.
