HMS Richards Lectureship

The HMS Richards Lectureship on Biblical Preaching, presented by the Seventh-day Adventist Theological Seminary, will host John S. Nixon as the speaker. The theme of the lectureship is "Preaching as Encounter," with topics "Encounter with God" (Oct. 11 @ 1:00 p.m.), "Encounter with God's People" (Oct. 11 @ 4:00 p.m.), and "The Ultimate Praise" (Oct. 12 @ 10:30 a.m.). Attendance is required for MDiv students.
Nixon is the senior pastor of the Collegedale Church on the campus of Southern Adventist University in Collegedale, Tenn. He has served in parish ministry for more than 30 years, mainly in urban areas, including New York, Boston, Los Angeles, and Washington, D.C. Collegedale is his third campus assignment, having also served as senior pastor at Oakwood University and Atlantic Union College. While on the west coast he held thep osition of vice-president for the Southern California Conference.
