H1N1 Flu Vaccine Scheduled

The Berrien County Health Department will be holding an H1N1 flu vaccine clinic on the campus of Andrews University. Vaccines offered on a walk-in basis and are free of charge. Those eligible to receive the H1N1 vaccine are:
• Pregnant women
• Children and young adults aged 6 months through 24 years
• Individuals who live with or care for infants under 6 months
• Health-care workers with direct patient contact
• Adults 25-64 years of age with underlying medical conditions
Everyone receiving the vaccine must sign a consent form. Those under 18 must have a parent sign for them. Consent forms are scheduled to be available online at www.bchdmi.org prior to the clinic. Both the nasal and shot forms of the vaccine are available; however, the nasal spray is limited to healthy individuals ages 2 to 49 years. The shot is available to everyone.
