Department of Chemistry Seminar Series

Troy Reichert & Danuel Brown, presenters

This is the first of multiple student seminar presentations for Fall 2009. Two Biochemistry seniors, Troy Reichert and Danuel Brown, will present.

Reichert, a Pre-Dental undergraduate student, will present, "Fluoride: Friend or Foe?", discussing the risks and benefits of the addition of sodium fluoride to oral dentifricesand drinkingn water.

In preparation for a future career in the pharmaceutical industry, Brown's topic will be "Ecstasy and the Ritter Reaction," a presentation discussing the structure and synthesis, including the Ritter reaction, of the synthetic psychoactive drug that many American teenagers abuse.
