Laurence Turner was born in England and graduated from Newbold College (B.A.), the Seventh-day Adventist Theological Seminary (M.Div.), Princeton Theological Seminary (Th.M.), and the University of Sheffield (Ph.D.). He worked as a pastor in the South England Conference before going to lecture at Avondale College. He is currently principal lecturer in Old Testament and director of research degrees at Newbold College. His main interest is Genesis, on which he has published three books. He is married with two children and seven grandchildren.
