LESSONS LEARNED FROM AFRICAN COLLEAGUES

Our featured speaker, Dr. Stephen E Silliman, just returned from Uganda, Africa with a slew of stories to tell.

Dr. Silliman is very experienced in international collaborations and in blending social sciences with engineering.  His applied research focuses on characterizing, modeling and managing groundwater resources in developing countries, with primary focus on rural and urban regions of Benin, West Africa. Since 1995, he has led student service experiences to Haiti, as well as collaborative research experiences with colleagues in Benin, West Africa. Recently, he has also started research on Integrated Water Resource Management in rural Uganda.
