The Andrews University Department of Music Vocal Area presents its summer production on Tuesday, August 9, 2011 at 7 p.m. in the Howard Performing Arts Center. No admission, but a freewill offering will be taken.

Featured works will be The Telephone by Gian-Carlo Menotti (1911-2007), a comic opera in one act; a scene from the beloved opera La Boheme by Giacomo Puccini (1858-1924); and selections from the popular musical West Side Story by Leonard Bernstein (1918-1990).

The singers will include Katharine Drexler, soprano and Timothy McFeeters, baritone in The Telephone; Cristina Piccardi, soprano and Anthony James, tenor in La Boheme; and Alice Hyde, mezzo-soprano, Julia Lindsay, soprano and Jon Hanson, tenor in selections from West Side Story. We welcome our accompanist, Roger Dickman, from Chicago, Ill. The featured performers include current Andrews University Department of Music students, former graduates of the Andrews University Department of Music, current Department of Music faculty, and community.
