Silent Praise Reunion Concert
Part of New Life Fellowship Anniversary
Fri, October 7, 2011 @ 07:00 pm - 09:00 pm
The opening program of the 20th Anniversary of New Life Fellowship will be a Silent Praise Reunion Concert held at the Howard Performing Arts Center on Friday, Oct. 7, at 7 p.m.
Silent Praise is a sign language choir that began in 2001 on the campus of Andrews University under the direction of Katiana Manumbu. Katiana had a passion for American Sign Language at a young age and had a vision to create a ministry on the campus.
Silent Praise combines American Sign Language and English Sign Language with elements of drama, dance and music to provide a total praise and worship experience. Since its inception, close to 100 students have participated in this ministry. In addition, past members, after matriculating from Andrews University, have created extension ministries across the U.S. and Canada.
The mission of Silent Praise is to bring awareness about deaf culture while ministering to those who are physically and spiritually deaf.
"No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived what God has prepared for those who love him."—1 Cor. 2:9
