On Sunday January 8th, 2012 Clarinetist Jason Gresl will take the audience into his own personal world of classical music.  Through an eclectic assortment of solo and chamber music works and relevant anecdotes, listeners will discover the many influences that can make a classical musician tick these days… David Lang’s funky bass clarinet piece Press Release peppers the audience with incessant urban sounds.

Margaret Brouwer’s No Rotary Phone investigates the tribulations of automated phone menus, and Bill Douglas’ Begin Sweet World calms even the most stubborn ear.  The traditionalist will enjoy the clever Sonata by Italian composer Mario Castlenuovo-Tedesco.  Gresl rounds out the program with Libby Larsen’s  toe-tapping piece, Corker, for clarinet and percussion and a rarely heard performance for bass clarinet and wine glass!
