Ways of Knowing: Using Research to Inform Theory & Practice
Humans are constantly making decisions. The quality of our life is inextricably linked to the decisions that we make. It goes without saying that the best decisions are usually Informed-decisions - decisions that are knowledge-based. But, how do we acquire that knowledge? How do we “come to know?” It is true that epistemology is concerned with what knowledge is most important; but how do we acquire or “come to know?” Is empiricism at odds with revelation? Can one know that which is not “testable” or “observable?” Is there such a thing as “objective reality?”
