Autism Speaks 5K

On Sunday, April 16, the community is invited to participate in the Autism Speaks 5K Run on the campus of Andrews University. Registration begins at 8 a.m.; the race begins at 9 a.m. The event is co-hosted by the following University groups: Filipino International Association (AFIA), Psychology Club, Speech-Language Pathology & Audiology (SPLAD) Club, and the Counseling & Testing Center (CTC).

These four groups have collaborated to raise awareness and funds for Autism Speaks, a non-profit organization founded in 2005 by grandparents of a child with autism. Autism Speaks is dedicated to promoting solutions for the various needs of individuals that have autism and their families and strives to accomplish their goals by sponsoring autism research and conducting awareness and outreach activities aimed at families, governments and the public.

Proceeds from ticket sales will go directly to Autism Speaks. Race registration is $10 for students and $15 for community members and can be purchased online
