SMSO Presents Chaplin's "The Kid" Concert/Movie

Community Announcements | Posted on September 22, 2017

The Southwest Michigan Symphony Orchestra presents Chaplin’s "The Kid," a concert and movie screening, Sunday, Oct. 15, 2017, 4 p.m. at the Howard Performing Arts Center on the campus of Andrews University. Experience this touching drama and inventive silent comedy from 1921 with Chaplin’s original musical score performed live by the Southwest Michigan Symphony Orchestra! Considered Chaplin’s most perfect and personal film by many admirers, The Kid recounts the story of an abandoned baby unwillingly taken in by The Tramp. As the boy matures, it is evident the two have developed a tremendous bond. Charlie Chaplin not only starred in this film and composed the musical score, but he also produced, directed and edited it.
