Andrews team headed to Puerto Rico
Two Andrews University professors and 16 students are on their way to Puerto Rico to help rescue efforts in the hurricane-ravaged island, the university reported. They will be there until Thursday.
Victor Perez Andino, an Andrews architecture student from Puerto Rico, had helped the school connect with a project in San Juan.
Beginning in July, the graduate Urban Design Studio began to pursue a service project in collaboration with Proyecto ENLACE del Caño Martín Peña. The project’s purpose is to help with the design of new housing and public spaces in a flood-prone, impoverished informal settlement in central San Juan.
