Almost 500 third- through fifth-grade students at STEAM Academy at MLK in Benton Harbor have called David Van Dyke of Buchanan their principal for the past two school years.
Others know him as a singer and guitar player with the Van Dyke Revue and the Backsliders, which play gigs all over Southwest Michigan and beyond.
