Reminders for Maintaining Safety on Campus

Campus Announcements | Posted on February 22, 2018

Recent local and national tragedies are solemn reminders of the importance of safety preparedness for our own campus community. As we find ways to care for those around us who are facing challenging circumstances, we also encourage you to take practical steps personally.

If you are a current University student, faculty or staff:

  • Register for AU Alert, a system used to send emergency notification alerts to campus. Faculty and staff should ensure their work address is correct in Banner for building specific notifications.
  • Review, or take for the first time, the online lockdown course. Building managers and faculty/staff should practice processes to secure their building, classroom, office, etc.
  • Invite the Office of Campus Safety to conduct in-house/departmental trainings

If you are not a current Andrews student, faculty or staff:

  • Register for AU Alert under the “Public Registration” option. Learn more here.

We encourage both our University community and the public to also sign up to receive alerts that affect Berrien County through a service provided by the Berrien County Sheriff's Office.

Please report any safety concerns to Campus Safety (269-471-3321) or USIT (University Student Intervention Team).
