Flood Relief Response: Volunteers Needed
Dear Campus Community,
Many of you have expressed interest in providing assistance to our local communities as they recover from recent flooding. We invite you to join Andrews University this Friday, March 2, for a clean-up opportunity.
Niles, Michigan, is providing dumpsters to their residents for disposal of items damaged by the flood. Homeowners are responsible for removing damaged items from their residence. The city is then asking volunteers to assist homeowners in moving approved items to dumpsters.
Andrews University will provide transportation for student, faculty and staff volunteers in two shifts of 100 volunteers. The first shift will leave campus at 7:30 a.m. and return by 1 p.m. The second shift will leave campus at 12:10 p.m. and return by 5:30 p.m.
- To register for Shift 1, click here and select “Sign in or register to RSVP to this event.” Sign in with your Andrews username and password, then complete the registration form.
- To register for Shift 2, click here and select “Sign in or register to RSVP to this event.” Sign in with your Andrews username and password, then complete the registration form.
Please note: classes will continue as normal, and campus offices will maintain regular hours. Students should select volunteer shifts accordingly. Faculty and staff who wish to volunteer on Friday morning should seek prior approval from supervisors as applicable.
We continue to actively seek ways to support our local community and will keep the campus aware of opportunities as they become available—follow our Andrews University Facebook page for updates. If you are looking for individual ways to help, please contact United Way.
Thank you for your continued prayers as we find ways to care for our community.
