July 19: 1,000 Miles Great Lakes Trek, with Loreen Niewenhuis, 6:30 p.m.
Loreen Niewenhuis returns to the History Center for the 2018 Thursdays at Courthouse Square and this time tells of her hike along the shores of the five Great Lakes. She will explore the natural and human history of the Great Lakes and discuss the importance of preserving our natural resources. Free to all

July 22: Why Berrien Springs, with Tom Kimmel, 2 p.m.
Local historian and long-time resident Tom Kimmel will share the reasons Berrien Springs was settled so late and what made the town so important. Free to all

July 26: From College to University, with Meredith Jones Gray, 6:30 p.m.
For our fourth 2018 Thursdays at Courthouse Square, Meredith Jones Gray, author of the campus history book "As We Set Forth," will share recent research about the campus transition from Emmanuel Missionary College to Andrews University back in 1959, as well as some of her wealth of personal experience at Andrews. Free to all

July 29: The Importance of Gardens, with Carol Line, 2 p.m. 
Executive director of Fernwood Botanical Gardens, Carol Line, will provide an overview of Berrien County's unique natural and botanical gem, Fernwood, followed by a talk on the diverse and vast characteristics that exist among our country's public gardens, common threads that bind them together, and the important work they do each day ranging from nurturing the soul to saving the planet.
