From Darkness into Light is the theme of the annual Easter Choral Concert conducted by Stephen Zork, featuring the Andrews University Chorale and Andrews University Singers. The program acknowledges the sovereignty of Creator God the Father, the love of Christ the Son, and the comforter Holy Spirit. The poignant spiritual contrasts of light and darkness experienced by Jesus Christ are portrayed through pieces like: “I Want to Walk as a Child of the Light” arr. by Tom Trenney, and “Dark Night of the Soul” by Ola Gjeilo. Likewise, the “man of sorrows and acquainted with grief” inspires an abundance of joyful choral expressions as modeled through His ministry and celebrated in His resurrection, including: “Hilariter” by Janika Vandervelde, “Baba Yetu” - the endearing Swahili adaptation of The Lord’s Prayer arr. by André van der Merwe, “For Everyone Born, a Place at the Table” arr. by Tom Trenney, and “I’ll Be on My Way” by Shawn Kirchner. The program includes timeless pieces such as “Crucifixus” by Antonio Lotti, and “If We Believe that Jesus Died and Rose Again” by John Goss.

The concert will feature graduate choral conductors: Kleberson Calanca, Giovanni Corrodus, Jessie Link, Winner Silvestre, and Ronnie Zanella.
