Global Partnership Film Screening, Silent Auction

Community members are invited to join Caring Circle for a reception and silent auction in support of their partnership with Our Lady’s Hospice of Thigio, Kenya through Global Partners in Care (GPC). The free event will take place on Wednesday, September 11 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Caring Circle in St. Joseph, located at 4025 Health Park Lane.

During the event guests will enjoy a screening of the documentary Okuyamba which depicts the common mission shared by a small band of palliative care nurses working to ease the pain and suffering of AIDS and cancer patients in rural villages of Uganda. The reception will feature home cooked Kenyan dishes and a silent auction with art and craft items made in Kenya as well as pieces created by local artists. Funds raised from the silent auction will go to support Our Lady’s Hospice.

“This reception provides a unique opportunity for members of our community to learn more about the wonderful partnership between Caring Circle and Our Lady’s Hospice in Kenya,” said Kunga Nyima Drotos, social worker, Caring Circle. “Since the partnership was established in 2017, we have been able to support the organization in a number of ways both financially and educationally including funding improvements to their facilities with new flooring and installation of a septic system.”
