Death of Nolan Isaac Perry

Life Stories | Posted on February 6, 2020

We are saddened to inform the campus of the death of Nolan Isaac Perry, son of Christopher and Jessica Perry and brother to Cece. Christopher, assistant professor, and Jessica, adjunct professor, teach in the Andrews University School of Architecture & Interior Design.

Nolan was born on Sunday, Feb. 2, 2020. Later that day he passed away peacefully in his parents’ arms.

Nolan’s first name means “chariot fighter” or “champion.” His middle name, Isaac, means “he will laugh” or “he will rejoice.” Christopher, Jessica and Cece have the hope that their champion will one day rejoice, and they look forward to the day they can all laugh together in Heaven. For more of Nolan’s story, visit his CaringBridge site here.

Please remember the Perry family in your thoughts and prayers as they process this difficult loss. You are invited to share condolences with the family below.

So sorry to hear about your loss. It’s tragic losing a child especially when we think, we as parents who are older, should be the first ones to go. Our deepest condolences goes out to your family. Please remember your precious one is a beautiful angel in heaven and waiting for you. Our prayers are with all of you. -Merline

I am so deeply sorry about the loss of your little boy and can only imagine the depth of your grief. We are praying for all of you. May you sense God holding you in the palm of his mighty and tender hand, grieving with you, and assuring you of his promise that you will hold Nolan Isaac again and indeed, you will all rejoice. Until then, may you never depart from God's peace and comfort. Stephen & Dalry Payne
