AUPT Clinic Now Offering Treatment

Campus News | Posted on September 24, 2020

If you have a physical therapy need, treatment is available through the Andrews University Physical Therapy (AUPT) Clinic. While telehealth appointments will be scheduled as far as possible, in-person appointments are also available when necessary in the basement of Johnson Gym at the Beaty Gym entrance.

The AUPT Clinic follows COVID-19 prevention standards for outpatient healthcare facilities as required by Michigan state law. Patients and clinicians are advised to closely monitor for COVID-19 symptoms or elevated body temperature and to stay home if anything is abnormal. Patients’ temperatures will also be taken on arrival at the Clinic. While inside the Clinic, patients and clinicians are required to wear a mask, and social distancing is maintained between patients. Treatment tables are wiped down between sessions with a CDC-approved cleaner graded to kill COVID-19.

Physical therapy visits are effective for the treatment of a variety of personal needs including bodily aches and pains, functional limitations, management of a simple or complex medical condition, or simply fitness training. If you are not sure if physical therapy is right for you, you can schedule a free 15-minute video call to talk to a physical therapist.

To schedule an appointment, visit andrews.edu/chhs/pt/pt-clinic/. Appointment availability varies. The first visit, which is the evaluation, is $80 and any additional follow-up visits are $35.

Paying for treatments is easy—just visit the Andrews website and pay online. The Clinic does not take insurance, but if you have insurance you can submit your expenses to your insurance company yourself. The Clinic website includes several tips on how to do this: andrews.edu/chhs/pt/pt-clinic/services/index.html#reimbursed.

The Andrews Clinic is a direct access facility, so you can schedule an appointment whenever you are ready. You do not need a script or order from a medical doctor. To learn more about the Clinic, go to andrews.edu/pt/pt-clinic or email your questions to AUPTClinic@andrews.edu.
