New Chief Information Officer Appointed

Chris Thomas, new CIO at Andrews University

Earlier today, Andrews University, in collaboration with Dynamic Campus, announced that Chris Thomas will serve as the new Chief Information Officer for Andrews University’s Information Technology Services (ITS).

Chris currently serves as a Chief Information Officer (CIO) with Dynamic Campus and has been serving on the Dynamic Campus transition team for Andrews University since Oct. 1, 2020.

Prior to joining Dynamic Campus, Chris served in senior leadership roles with various start-ups, as well as Mastercard, Ellucian and several other organizations. Overall, Chris has more than 15 years of information technology (IT) experience, with the past four years being in higher education roles.

Before joining Andrews University, Chris has served in IT executive roles for two other universities in the U.S. He also has extensive experience leading teams that support Banner, phone and network infrastructure, and help desk operations.

Chris also served 10 years in the United States Army where he was a chaplain’s assistant.

Chris’ years of experience have given him extensive knowledge of networking, infrastructure and classroom technologies as well as project management and emerging technology integration.

He is a strategic leader who has established and built data governance, project management, and business intelligence teams at previous institutions while standardizing those institutions’ IT processes and procedures. Chris understands the importance of the student experience and has previously developed a Student Success Technology program to improve the overall student experience.

Chris received a BS in information technology, as well as a Master of Science in information systems management, from the University of Phoenix.

We’re grateful for the support that Chris has already provided in the transition to Dynamic Campus for our IT services. Please welcome him as he joins our team of ITS professionals as they work together to effectively meet and best anticipate the ongoing IT needs of our University, its employees and students.
