Excellence in Service: Benjamin Panigot

Employee Awards | Posted on February 22, 2021

I’ve had the honor of working with Ben Panigot for several years now. I have seen him develop into a fine manager at Campus Safety and he is a personal friend. We have served on many committees together and also enjoyed some fine dining, including with master chef Dale Hodges. This last year Ben has really gone the extra mile in his leadership and dedication Campus Safety and Andrews University as a whole.

When we think of safety we think of Ben. He always advocates for the safety of everyone at Andrews, continually researching what needs to be done. Ben has been invaluable to us over the last year as he sought ways to mitigate the risks associated with COVID-19. During this timeframe, he has worked tirelessly almost every day, without any real breaks.

Leading the COVID-19 Case Management Team, he has been the glue that kept everything together and the grease that kept the wheels turning smoothly. He works day and night, never complains and always models a Christlike character no matter how tired he is. His leadership and insight of what the campus needs is uncanny as he helps us all navigate these unprecedented times without a guidebook to show the way. He goes above and beyond what he is asked to do for the University and is clearly an expert in his field.

Ben also works with Title IX cases at Andrews. A colleague says: “I have had the opportunity to work with Ben for two years on Title IX case investigations. Ben never ceases to amaze me with his work ethic, excellent work product and dedication to Andrews University. He is very thorough and professional while dealing with the delicate issues in this area.”

Another colleague shared: “He sets a standard of excellence in both work ethic and integrity, demonstrating Christlike and principled service through his daily work. I have worked with Ben as staff for the past 2.5 years, but this year Ben has gone the extra-extra mile with leading the COVID-19 Case Management Team in such unprecedented times—how extremely blessed we are to have such a capable yet humble servant-leader here at Andrews University… He clearly demonstrates his duty to safety and service, sacrificing endless daytime, nighttime and weekend hours regardless of the high demand asked of him. He deserves all the recognition this award can give.”

Congratulations, Ben, on receiving this well-deserved award!
