Andrews Wind Symphony to Perform Spring Concert

On Saturday, April 24, at 8:30 p.m., the Andrews University Wind Symphony Spring Concert will take place at the Howard Performing Arts Center. The program, titled “The Hounds of Spring,” will feature a number of classic works for band.

Conducted by Byron Graves, the symphony will perform “The Hounds of Spring” by Alfred Reed, “Second Suite in F” by Gustav Holst, transcriptions of “Down a Country Lane” by Aaron Copland, “Festive Overture” by Dmitri Shostakovich and “The Cowboys” by John Williams.

The concert will also showcase both the conducting and clarinet soloing talents of music performance major Jason Marquez as he conducts “Jubilate March” by Filipino composer Lucio San Pedro and performs Luigi Bassi’s clarinet solo “Concert Fantasia on Motives” from Giuseppe Verdi’s opera “Rigoletto.”

A limited number of free in-person tickets are available for Andrews University students, staff and faculty at the Howard Center office.
