Social Innovation Award Part of Pitch Competition

MA Leadership in Social Innovation from the Department of Leadership is sponsoring the Social Innovation Award—$10,000 seed grants for innovation projects to be distributed to teams participating in the 2023 Andrews University Pitch Competition.
 
The Social Innovation Award is in addition to the already $30,000 cash awards that will be distributed through the Pitch Competition. This Award has been made possible by the Fred Upton Foundation.
 
Two (2) teams will receive a $5,000 seed matching grant to initiate their social innovation project in Berrien County communities. The grant must be enhanced by matching funds and gifts-in-kind from other sources.
 
The grants will be allocated to projects in Berrien County communities that meet one of the category requirements below:
  • Social Entrepreneurship—to explore business opportunities that positively impact the communities in Berrien County.
  • Social Advocacy—seeks to ensure that all people in the communities can have their voices heard. 
  • Social Services—individual and community development and transformative changes in physical, mental and social needs.
