For over 30 years Carla Trynchuk has had a successful performance career as a violinist and teacher. At Andrews University she has successfully taught and mentored hundreds of students who have gone on to establish their own careers as musicians. Noting her ability to lead students to “achieve high levels of excellence,” a colleague remarked on how wonderful it is to witness the way her students adore her not only as a teacher but also put their trust in her as a mentor and friend. Another noted that she models “professionalism, comradery, and spirituality…”

According to a student, “Taking String Pedagogy with Prof. Trynchuk this semester was a blessing. This course helped me not only to reaffirm my passion about music and teaching, but also I could find new ways through which [to] see my learning process and embrace it.” Another student shared, “The information was amazing, each class was dynamic, and everybody was actively participating, including the professor. We could discuss a topic and benefit from it and learn for our future students and our learning process.”

Thank you, Carla, for your unwavering dedication to your students, your art, and to excellence and generosity. Congratulations on receiving this prestigious award!
