Speaker Bio
Nancy Carpenter grew up in Berrien County, Michigan, and was raised on a farm where she learned to appreciate the value of growing healthy food in a sustainable manner. She graduated from the University of Kentucky with a bachelor's degree in agriculture and a minor in animal science. She has been employed as the manager of the Berrien County Conservation District since 2008. At this job she has the opportunity to provide the tools needed to assist landowners and others on soil and water conservation and to partner with many organizations to protect and preserve our natural resources. This presentation will review a brief history of conservation districts in the United States and of the Berrien County Conservation District. An overview of the current programs and services offered will be included. A very brief explanation of each main program will be presented along with photos.
