Death of Kathleen Ann Larson

Kathleen Ann (Sykes) Larson was born on May 15, 1940 in Charlotte, Michigan to Leroy Sykes and Rosalie (Wagner) Sykes.

On December 28, 1960 she married the love of her life, Richard Duane Larson in Battle Creek. Their marriage lasted until his death in May 13, 1998. Together they raised three daughters who survive, Sandra Alyabari, Julia (Glen) Fuller and Deborah Larson. Kathleen later adopted two children who also survive, Morgan (Matt) Marble and Brian Larson.

Kathleen was the oldest of 5 children. She graduated from the Battle Creek Academy as Salutatorian in 1959. She maintained those school friendships all through the years. She attended Emmanuel Missionary College (Andrews University) in Berrien Springs until 1960.

She owned and operated an Adult Foster Care Home for several years, where she cared for many elderly. She also owned and operated the Canal Inn in Augusta with her husband, and she was a licensed foster parent for many years.
