   Agenda | Posted on February 21, 2024

The Andrews University Wind Symphony and University Singers will perform for a Friday night vespers service in the Howard Performing Arts Center (HPAC) on Friday, March 1, from 7:30–9 p.m. The event is free and open to the public.

With the theme of “Praises to the King,” Denisse Santos, wind symphony director, and Cyril Punay, assistant director for the University Singers, along with multiple student directors, will lead performances of several songs of praise. Popular Christian songs such as “Great is Thy Faithfulness,” “I Want to Walk as a Child of the Light” and “Praise God from Whom All Blessings Flow” will be performed.

The student directors include Eleanor Joyce, Janelle Dobson, Nicole Neugebauer and Jahaziel Guiterrez Escobar, who will each direct one piece. In addition, “Rex Caelestis,” a piece entirely composed by graduate conducting student Earlon Cornwall, will make its world premiere at the vespers service.

All are invited to attend this gathering of praise. More information about this event is available on the Howard Performing Arts Center website.
