Apply for Research Fellowships at CAR
The Center for Adventist Research (CAR) is committed to fostering high-quality scholarship on the history of the Adventist faith tradition. Through its fellowships, CAR encourages research that not only deepens understanding of Adventism but also situates it within broader historical, cultural and theoretical contexts. Each year, CAR awards research fellowships that provide financial support and access to resources for scholars.
Gary Land Research Fellowship
The Center for Adventist Research (CAR) is now accepting applications for the Gary Land Research Fellowship, which carries a monetary value of $2,500. This annually awarded endowed fellowship supports historical research at CAR. Priority is given to projects that reflect Land’s commendable scholarly approach: situating Adventism within broader historical or theoretical contexts and publishing cutting-edge work for expansive academic audiences.
Louise Dederen Digital Research Fellowship
The Center for Adventist Research is also accepting applications for the Louise Dederen Digital Research Fellowship, which provides a non-residential researcher with $2,000 of digitization credit. This annually awarded fellowship supports historical research by providing digital files of materials held at CAR. Priority is given to cutting-edge projects that situate Adventism within broader historical or theoretical contexts and that will be published for expansive academic audiences.
