2026 Newmyer Classic Welcomes Over 40 Teams

The annual Newmyer Classic, a high school basketball tournament hosted by Andrews University, returns to campus from Jan. 22–24, welcoming more than 40 teams from across the United States and Canada.  

Formerly known as the Cardinal Classic, the tournament was renamed the Newmyer Classic in 2016 to honor the Newmyer family for their long-standing support of Christian and Seventh-day Adventist education. Now in its 10th year under the Newmyer name, the tournament has become a signature event from the Andrews University Office of Athletics. It emphasizes competitive excellence, sportsmanship and faith-centered fellowship.
