30 Years of Service: Josip Horonic

   Employee Awards 2026 | Posted on March 2, 2026

Josip Horonic’s 30 years of service represent thousands of solved IT problems, countless moments of IT assistance and an enduring commitment to the mission of Andrews University.

As Zorislav Plantak shares, “Josip has faithfully served the James White Library in many critical ways. … Behind the scenes, he would come in the early mornings to perform maintenance, ensuring systems were running smoothly so others could do their work without disruption. The library functioned better because Josip quietly made sure it did.”

Paulette Johnson conveys, “You’ve seen us through hardware upgrades, software updates … and other technological advances [and] have done it all with a gentle spirit, a smile and humility.”

Katharine Van Arsdale affirms, “No matter how many times I present Josip with an impossible problem, he always finds a way to get our technology back in working order. … He always leaves people feeling better than he finds them.”

Other comments echo that Josip is “helpful,” has a “positive disposition,” is “always pleasant,” “steady,” “dependable,” “competent” and “he reflects the character of a Christian.”

Josip, we thank you for your service, dedication and quiet excellence. Your legacy is written not just in systems maintained or resources supported but in the people you have faithfully helped.
