30 Years of Service: Bryan Clayton

   Employee Awards 2026 | Posted on March 2, 2026

Bryan Clayton has been with Andrews University for more than 30 years. As a student, he was recruited to become a full-time employee of the University, tasked with the upkeep and administration of the campus systems and network infrastructure. At that time, the network covered a fraction of buildings on campus and the internet was still a thing most people, in general, had no clue existed.

Since then, he has seen us through expansive growth. Now, every building on campus has been connected; Wi-Fi has grown from nothing to having more than 750 access points covering our campus; and he has implemented and torn down many generations of network technology that have come and gone.

Bryan has always been eager to tackle any outage or issue with thought and care. Many people can attest to the image of panic from others contrasted with Bryan’s calm figure sitting cross-legged on the floor, laptop perched in his lap, with a lone wire strung to whatever errant, sick or misbehaving device is in front of him.

On behalf of ITS, we would like to express our greatest appreciation for the services Bryan has performed for Andrews University all these years.
