Tips for Being a Successful Student

Student Success Center | Posted on September 8, 2026

The semester is underway, assignments are picking up, and exams will be here before you know it. One of the best things you can do for yourself is to get ahead of challenges before they become problems.

Here are 3 things successful students do before they start struggling:

1. Ask for help early.
You don't have to wait until you're falling behind. Reaching out early gives you more options and more time to make adjustments.

2. Use tutoring before you need it.
Tutoring isn't just for when you're struggling. It can help you strengthen your understanding, prepare for exams, and stay on track throughout the semester. You can find the current tutoring schedule here.

3. Connect with the Student Success Center.
Whether you need help with time management, study strategies, organization, academic planning, tutoring, mentoring, or accessibility services, the SSC is here to support you.

Don't wait. Start now.

Stop by and see us on the 3rd floor of Nethery Hall and discover how the Student Success Center can help you reach your goals this semester.

We look forward to seeing you!
