Community Health Programs

Every year, senior nursing students of Andrews University participate in service-learning initiatives designed to improve the community-health outcomes in resource-deprived countries.  The program seeks to incorporate cultural awareness and sensitivity into nursing practice and foster an interest in serving the global community through mutual respect. In recent years, students have served both locally and internationally with the most recent overseas initiatives serving in Belize and Honduras.

In addition to the health clinics, Andrews students provide enrichment sessions for elementary students to teach the value of making healthy choices.  Elementary school teachers also receive CPR training.
