Lunch and Learn
These events for AU employees will be Thursdays at 12:30 p.m. in the Beijing Classroom of the Andreasen Center on the following dates. Limited spots are available, so be sure to sign up at the links provided.
Feb 2 - Enjoy a free, catered lunch and brief presentation on the importance of sleep, and how to improve your sleep. Sign up HERE.
Mar 2 - Enjoy a free lunch while learning how to make some simple, nutritious and delicious meals. Presented by June Grzybowski of Plant Services. Sign up HERE.
Mar 30 - Enjoy a free lunch while learning how to use a nutrient-dense combination of easy-to-prepare roasted vegetables, three different ways! Sign up HERE.
Ambassador Rally
Wellness Ambassadors are invited to the Spring Semester Rally on Thursday, Feb 16 at 12:30 p.m. in the Beijing classroom to enjoy a catered lunch and the latest wellness updates. Plus some time to connect and relax! This event is by invite only. To become a Wellness Ambassador, email wellness@andrews.edu.
Sleep Challenge

Sunday-Thursday, March 12-16

Goal: Each night, get a minimum of 7 hours of sleep. Naps during the day cannot count towards your nightly total.

Take a screen shot showing the date/time of when you go to bed. Submit by email or by posting on Instagram and tagging @aulivewholly. Social media posts must include #AUSleepChallenge23. See below for more details.

Other Requirements: All participants must set a "wind down" reminder on their phone and create a bed-time "ritual" to help prepare them for rest.

Complete an entry form detailing your bed-time ritual and provide a screen shot of your wind-down reminder. This will serve as entry to the challenge and will be due by Sunday, March 12 at 11:59 p.m. to qualify.

EVERYONE who gets a minimum of 7 hours of rest per night on all 5 nights will receive a Sleep Challenge goody bag, featuring the book Why We Sleep, by Matthew Walker, mug, tea and other sleep amenities. In addition, qualifying participants will be entered to win a memory foam mattress topper! Earn an extra drawing entry by sharing your bed-time ritual on social media.

Submission Guidelines and Rules

Must be a current AU student or employee to join.

Online entry form must be completed by Sunday, March 12 at 11:59 p.m. This form will be made available two weeks in advance.

To qualify for a goody bag and entry for the mattress topper drawing, the form must be completed on time, and all daily pictures MUST be submitted by Friday, March 17 at 11:59 p.m. Late entries will not be accepted.

An extra drawing entry may be earned by sharing about your bed-time ritual on Instagram and tagging @aulivewholly. Post must be shared during the challenge dates to qualify.

Self Defense Class
Join us at the Andreasen Center for Wellness in the Bridgetown Studio (upstairs) on Wednesday, Apr 12 to learn life-saving self defense skills and get a great workout! Physical Therapist and self-defense expert, Aristede Dukes, will instruct participants in Krav Maga style techniques that can be utilized effectively in a life-or-death situation. Spots are limited so reserve yours in the Andreasen Center app up to 1 week in advance. There will be two identical classes held from 7-8:15 p.m. and then from 8:30-9:45 p.m. You may only make a reservation for one class. Additional reservations will be cancelled.
