Alumni Homecoming Road & Parking Closures

During the Alumni Homecoming weekend (Sept. 27–29) there will be occasional road and parking lot closures for specific events. Details on these closures are below. Please make note of them and plan accordingly.

Friday, Sept. 27
Classic Car Show
5 a.m.–6 p.m.
University Bookstore parking lot (Lot #8) will be closed in addition to several parking spaces in Lot #7.

Homecoming Parade
4:45–6:30 p.m.
While the parade is scheduled to start at 5 p.m., the roads will begin to close before the event.

Please note that during the parade, the primary access on/off campus will be at the Timberland Drive entrance. Vehicles may park at the Howard Performing Arts Center parking lot (Lot #4) through Grove Ave. and Walnut Court.

Traffic on West Campus Circle Drive heading toward PMC will be directed to turn into the Andreasen Center for Wellness parking lot (Lot #25) to then, upon exit, turn left and head toward University Towers.

Parade participants who arrive after 4:45 p.m. should access the Andrews Academy parking lot (Lot #32) via Timberland to International Court by the Garland/Maplewood Apartments. After 4:45 p.m. access will not be allowed for parade participants via any other route.

Closed for the entire parade:

  • J.N. Andrews Blvd. at the College Ave. entrance
  • East Campus Circle Drive from Parkway Drive to PMC
  • University Blvd. exit from Lamson parking lot (Lot #26 & 27)*
  • Seminary parking lot (Lot #2)
  • Chan Shun Hall parking lot (Lot #3)

Open for the entire parade:

  • Timberland Road entrance
  • North section of West Campus Circle Drive (from University Towers to Smith Hall)

The following roads will be closed until parade participants clear the area:

  • Garland Ave. at University Medical Specialties
  • International Court at Maplewood Apartments

*Lamson traffic can exit campus through the PMC parking lot along the soccer field to West Campus Circle Drive to East Campus Circle Drive to Timberland.

Sunday, Sept. 29
Harvest Run/Walk
7:45–9:15 a.m.
East Campus Circle Drive by the Grounds building closed for the start of the event.

NOTE: While campus roads will remain open for the majority of the Harvest Run/Walk (which begins at 9 a.m.), please be aware of the additional foot traffic around campus and be courteous and cautious while driving and riding bikes/skateboards.
