Severe Weather Siren Testing

Campus Safety | Posted on January 16, 2020

On Friday, Jan. 17, 2020, at 12:30 p.m., the University's severe weather siren will be activated for a short period of time to test repairs that were made this week. Part of the test may result in an audible siren tone. If you do hear the siren tone, please disregard it.

This is in response to a false activation, when on Jan. 9, 2020, the University’s severe weather siren malfunctioned and sounded without being activated.

While repairs to the siren are underway, the Office of Campus Safety would also like to take the opportunity to share resources related to the severe weather siren’s operation and the University’s emergency procedures.

For further information, please contact the Office of Campus Safety.
