Application Process for 2022-2023

How to become a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist

In order to become a RDN an individual must go through the following steps in order.

  • Complete a bachelor's (minimally) degree, in an ACEND accredited US college or university, with ACEND accredited coursework.
  • Complete an ACEND accredited supervised practice program either through an internship program or as part of a graduate program.
  • Pass the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) national examination.
  • Continue to grow as a professional by obtaining continuing education units (CEUs) and maintain registration.

The Andrews University Dietetics Internship Program will fulfill the requirement of completing a supervised practice program.

Our program provides graduate credits which may be petitinoed for application towards other masters programs, however, acceptance into the Dietetics Internship Program does NOT guarantee admission to any other AU graduate programs, and does NOT confer a graduate degree.
