Biography

Dean Matthew Fitting was raised in a two-parent pastoral and educational ministry focused home environment. This environment cultivated an interest and appreciation for Christian youth ministry, specifically, summer camp and Residence Life. Despite his home settings alternating between various parts of California, Colorado, Idaho, Illinois, Nebraska, and Michigan, Dean Fitting’s constant home setting has been Residence Life. With over 25 years of living in a residence hall setting, and more than 17 serving as staff, Dean Fitting is very familiar with community living and the challenges and benefits that come with it.

Dean Fitting specializes in team building, interpersonal, and leadership skills and is driven to build meaningful relationships with others through activities and work. Dean Fitting thrives on working with teams and creating systems and processes that bring people from across an organization together to produce new beneficial ideas and practices. When conflict arises, Dean Fitting is competent in mediating and mentoring, and utilizes team dynamics and community culture to bring about resolution. Although Dean Fitting is a logical and critical thinker, he does not place these practices above interpersonal relationships and understands the importance of working together to achieve success.

Aside from spending time with his wife and twin daughters, when Dean Fitting is not in the office, you will find him engaging in team sports, playing board games, trying new cuisines, or putting a puzzle together.
