English/Honors student Corinna Bevier spent Fall 2025 in the James White Library at the Center for Adventist Research, working on a project titled “Intellectually Curating a Collection: Seventh-day Adventists and Tobacco Reform.” This project is the first stage of a collaboration between the Department of English and the Center for Adventist Research, and it studies the impact and reach of Seventh-day Adventists on anti-tobacco activism and smoking cessation programs. Through this project, undergraduate students will have learning opportunities in the Digital and Public Humanities and learn about archival research. Corinna is the first intern placed in this project, and she spent the semester identifying, cataloguing, and curating multimedia materials. She will present portions of this research in the future and will curate an exhibit featuring highlights from her research. Corinna hopes to build on this experience in her future career in Museum Studies.
