Master of Arts in Pastoral Ministry

The Master of Arts in Pastoral Ministry (MAPM) is designed for experienced pastors. Our mission is to equip pastors with the Seven Core Qualities necessary to be an effective pastor.

The program is specifically designed for pastors with a minimum of five years of pastoral experience whose ministerial functions and employment responsibilities make it impossible to engage in an extended study program at the Seminary. The MAPM allows you to work full-time as a pastor and continue on with classes to receive your master's degree.

English and Spanish tracks are offered through field-based intensives twice a year in all nine unions of the North American Division.

The MAPM is fully sponsored by respective unions through a collaborative arrangement between North American Division Union conferences and the Seventh-day Adventist Theological Seminary.

At the completion of the program you will be able to serve in many areas, including:

  • Pastoral ministry
  • Evangelism
  • Conference administration
  • Ministerial leadership
