Discipleship in Lifespan Education—MA

The MA (Discipleship in Lifespan Education) degree is designed to prepare leaders to train other leaders to understand and facilitate, and train others in the process of discipleship, the life-long journey of learning to follow Jesus and become more like Him. Concentrations in youth and young adult ministry, campus chaplaincy, family ministry, religious education, and Bible teacher training provide areas of specialization depending upon students’ area of interest.

PROGRAM LENGTH

This 48-credit program can typically be completed by fulltime students in two years.

APPLICATION DEADLINES

Prospective students must submit their application by the dates listed below.

  • Fall (August – December): July 15
  • Spring (January – May): November 15
  • Summer Session 1 (May – June): April 1
  • Summer Session 2 (June – July): May 1
  • Summer Session 3 (July – August): June 1

POINTS OF DISTINCTION

  • Accredited by the Commission on Accrediting of the Association of Theological Schools (ATS) and by the Adventist Accrediting Association.
  • Small classes and favorable student-professor ratio.

 

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

Concentrations: Youth & Young Adult Ministry, Campus Chaplaincy, and Family Life Education

  • A bachelors degree (or non-U.S. equivalent) from an accredited institution and a minimum undergraduate GPA of 2.5
  • Transcripts, Resume or CV, Statement of Purpose, and Three Recommendations
  • Graduate Conduct Disclosure Statement and Seminary Criminal Background Check
  • Background in OT & NT

Concentrations: Religious Education, and Bible Teaching

  • A bachelors degree (or non-U.S. equivalent) from an accredited institution and a minimum undergraduate GPA of 2.75 for admissions (3.0 in order to graduate)
  • Transcript, Resume or CV, Statement of Purpose, and Three Recommendations
  • Graduate Conduct Disclosure Statement and Seminary Criminal Background Check
  • GRE General Test scores from exam taken within five years

Students whose language of education is not English must submit English proficiency test scores: Duolingo English test, TOEFL, IELTS or PTE (academic).
