Biography

After earning her BS in Biology, Roshelle Hall attended UC Davis to study Veterinary Medicine. However, halfway through the program she realized this was not the right career for her. She returned to school at Andrews University and completed her MS in Biology there in 2019. Her thesis was titled “Assessment of Eastern Massasauga Rattlesnakes (Sistrurus catenatus) in Berrien County Historical Sites.” She is a passionate environmentalist, ecologist, herpetologist, and field biologist. Roshelle’s life has been dedicated to training and educating people of all ages and backgrounds about the natural world around them.

Current Research or Professional Activities

Currently, I spend most of my time working with students at the Andrews University Museum of Nature & Science. My goal is to continue developing programs that allow students from various fields to gain professional experience while learning about our natural world. This includes helping to start a new campus club focused on museums.  I have partnered with the School of Education and the School of Architecture and Interior Design to give students practical experience. My aim for the museum is to make it an active space for teaching, learning, and research for both the campus and the community.

My research interests focus on the imperiled eastern massasauga rattlesnake in Berrien County and on the intersection of environmental stewardship and faith.

My spare time is spent with my family, pets, friends, and enjoying the outdoors.
