Biography

Karen A. Reiner is an associate professor in the Department of Medical Laboratory Sciences at Andrews University, Berrien Springs, Michigan. She joined the Andrews faculty in the summer of 2004.

Born in Barquisimeto, Venezuela to missionary parents, Karen graduated with a Bachelor of Science in medical technology in 1994 from Columbia Union College in Takoma Park, Maryland. She received a Master of Science in clinical laboratory sciences from Andrews University, Berrien Springs, Michigan in 1999. In 2017, Karen completed her PhD in public health epidemiology at Walden University.

Karen Reiner holds certification with the American Society for Clinical Pathology and maintains active membership in the American Society for Clinical Laboratory Scientists (ASCLS) and the Association for the Advancement of Blood and Biotherapies (AABB). In addition to her professional commitments, she contributes to the field as a volunteer for the National Accrediting Agency for Clinical Laboratory Sciences (NAACLS).

Karen is married to Kevin Reiner and they have two sons and two daughters.
